SAUNTERRA

Terms of Service

Effective October 22, 2026

The plain-language rules for Saunterra membership: what you get, what you pay, and how we look after your trips.

1. About these terms

Saunterra is a travel membership club operated by Jason Burchard, a sole proprietor based in Portland, Oregon ("Saunterra," "we," "us"). These terms cover the Saunterra website at saunterra.club, the member app at app.saunterra.club, and your membership.

By applying, creating an account, or paying for a membership, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Saunterra.

2. Membership and your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to become a member.
  • Saunterra is in private beta. Membership is by application, and we may approve or decline any application.
  • You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email. Keep your email account secure; anyone who can open your email can sign in as you.
  • Your membership is personal. Please do not share your account or sell or transfer your membership.
  • Keep the information in your account accurate, including your email address.

3. Fees, renewal and cancellation

  • Founding membership costs $49 per year (plus any applicable taxes) and is billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe.
  • Your membership renews automatically every year at the same price until you cancel. Your founding price is locked for as long as your membership stays active. If it ends and you rejoin later, the price at that time applies.
  • You can cancel any time from Settings, using Manage membership. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the year you have already paid for.
  • Membership fees are not refundable, including for partial years, except where the law requires otherwise. If something has gone wrong, email us and we will do our best to make it right.
  • If a renewal payment fails, you keep access for 7 days while you update your card. After that, your membership is paused until payment succeeds.
  • We may change membership prices for new members. We will tell existing members at least 30 days before any change that affects them.

4. Travel advisor bookings

Members can ask a Saunterra travel advisor to find and book stays. Bookings are made through our advisor and the host travel agency we work with, Fora Travel, with the hotel or other travel supplier.

  • Saunterra is not a hotel, airline or other travel supplier. Each booking is a contract between you and the supplier, and the supplier’s terms, rates, cancellation rules and policies apply.
  • Partner perks such as breakfast, upgrades or hotel credits are set by the supplier, vary by property and are subject to availability.
  • You are responsible for checking the details of each booking, and for your own passports, visas, entry requirements, health requirements and travel insurance.
  • We are not responsible for a supplier’s acts or omissions, or for events outside our control such as weather, strikes, illness or government action.

5. Cash back and membership levels

Members may earn cash back on stays booked and completed through a Saunterra advisor. Cash back is described on saunterra.club, including how it is calculated, which bookings qualify, and when it is paid. In short:

  • Only stays booked and completed through a Saunterra advisor qualify. Travel you book yourself and add to the app does not.
  • Cash back is calculated on the booking value after taxes and fees, and paid once a year for the previous calendar year’s completed travel.
  • Only the member who made the booking receives cash back, including on shared trips.
  • Your membership level is based on the trips you log and complete each calendar year. Levels and the cash back associated with them may change for future bookings. We will post changes on saunterra.club before they take effect.
  • Cash back has no cash value outside these rules, and we may withhold it in cases of fraud, cancellations, chargebacks or misuse.

6. Your trips, photos and other content

You own the trips, bookings, notes, photos, documents and anything else you add to Saunterra ("your content"). You give us permission to store, process and show your content to run the service for you, including showing it to people you choose to share it with and, for trips you make public, on your public profile.

  • Only add content you have the right to add. Please do not upload other people’s private information without their permission.
  • Public trips show a summary (places, length, the kinds of things booked, and your highlight). Confirmation numbers, prices, notes and documents are never shown publicly.
  • Importing from email works through an AI assistant you choose and run yourself. Saunterra receives only the results you paste into the app, and your use of that assistant is governed by its own terms.
  • If you invite someone to a shared trip, they can see and edit that trip.

7. Acceptable use

Please use Saunterra lawfully and respectfully. Do not:

  • try to access other members’ accounts or data, or get around our security;
  • upload anything unlawful, harmful, infringing or that you do not have the right to share;
  • scrape, copy or resell the service or other members’ content, or use automated means to access it without our permission;
  • interfere with the service, or use it to send spam.

8. Deleting your account and suspension

You can delete your account any time from Settings. Your profile and trips are hidden right away and your membership stops renewing. After 30 days, your account and your content are permanently deleted, as described in our Privacy Policy. Until then you can restore your account by signing in.

We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms or puts other members or the service at risk. If we end your membership without cause, we will refund the unused part of your current year.

9. Disclaimers and limits of liability

We work hard to keep Saunterra accurate and available, but the service is provided "as is." We do not promise that it will always be available or error-free. Information such as entry requirements, exchange rates and travel suggestions is provided for convenience; always confirm with official sources and suppliers.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Saunterra will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or travel plans. Our total liability for any claim relating to Saunterra is limited to the membership fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in Multnomah County, Oregon, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Saunterra grows. If a change is significant, we will tell members by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Saunterra after that means you accept the updated terms.
